The service is intended for clients of the wellbeing services county's health services. Medical supplies are distributed to clients with long-term illnesses in accordance with the Health Care Act. A health care professional decides whether you are eligible for the service, so you need a referral to order medical supplies. The distribution of medical supplies is based on individual need, determined by the attending doctor or nurse together with the client.

The medical supplies include equipment for the treatment and monitoring of diabetes as well as suture, wound care and catheterisation equipment and incontinence protectors. Diapers are distributed to people with a moderate to severe urinary or faecal incontinence. Medical supplies improve the quality of life of clients with long-term illnesses living at home or in nursing homes by increasing their ability to care for themselves, to work and to function.
If you are eligible for the service, a health care professional will issue a referral or draw up a personal care plan, which you can use to order the medical supplies.

The medical supply distribution serves at Koivukylä health center. Order supplies well in advance. How to act on the phone: - When you call, choose the language: Finnish or Swedish - You can avoid waiting in line by leaving a callback request when you hear the recorded message about callback. - You can leave a callback request to the appointment number Mon-Fri from 10 am to 12 pm. - We will respond to the callback request as soon as possible on the same business day. Waiting in line: - If you want, you can stay in the phone queue. - If you do not leave a callback request and hang up during the waiting time, you will lose your place in the queue.
